Holding This Space Together

Are you feeling grumpy when you wake up? Tired? Unappreciated? Are you feeling like you are stuck and unable to do anything?

If any of those words speaks out to you, then you and I are in the same place in life.

Perhaps it is being under the strain of living under a pandemic for so long? Or you have lost someone or something recently?

Maybe you have been doing so much after being forced to slow down that it feels overwhelming.

Or maybe you were met with some disappointments lately?

Whatever brought you to this place, I  want to thank YOU for being here with me.

I want to take a moment  to acknowledge this place that we are both in.

This awkward and uncomfortable feeling of discontentment. Of NOT wanting to feel this way and yet at the same time, can’t help but feel it anyway.

To the thoughts that are in this space, I hear you.

We are giving ourselves permission to feel okay about not being OKAY.

And yes, we are giving you, “the thoughts” space but NOT letting it define our worth, day or outlook in life.

When these thoughts arise and we are feeling what we are feeling, it is time we recognize that there may be just too much going on.  And that we don’t have to say YES to everything.

Remember that when you say NO to something, you are saying YES to yourself and how you want to spend your time.

And it doesn’t have to always be with others.

“Me time” is a wonderful time for you to reconnect and work on yourself if you are always giving up your time and energy for others. Take a minute or moment to stop, pause and breathe without the shackles of dishes, laundry and cleaning or work holding you down. You will feel better if you do, trust me :).

If you are alone, then seek out others. Reconnecting with others will help you to feel less alone. Perhaps call a friend you haven’t heard for awhile?

Either way, it will take you out of this mental space towards a better place.

Counting the simple blessings in life will also help. It could be as simple as venturing outside to breathe fresh air and feeling the heat of the sun or just having enough food on the table.

Do more of what brings you joy and happiness. And if you are not sure what that is, find something and see if it challenges you. You might be surprised at the results.

Just like the leaves that change with the seasons, these thoughts and this moment too will pass.

Thank you for holding this space with me and remember to be kind to yourself.

I hope this post helps someone out there in the universal. Feel free to drop a comment or a like if it helped you!
