A Letter of Thanks & Appreciation For Supporting Cherteal.com

As 2022 comes to an end, I am thankful for each and every one who followed liked, or shared a post from Cherteal.com. You are the reason Cherteal continues to exist today.

As you may know, Cherteal was created two years ago to bring my love of writing, community, and Khmer Krom together. Each article is posted with love, insight, and the hope that somewhere in the universe, it will be useful to someone. And based on some feedback, it has helped.

The popular posts

The most popular post was Six Reasons Why You Should Celebrate the Khmer Festival of the Dead, followed by the inspiring story of my little brother Dara

“Your article is outstanding! thanks for sharing valuable information.  I highly appreciate your work, it means a lot to our community. Can’t wait to read more”

Hen Ly, Facebook on the Festival of Dead post.

The day I discovered the dishwasher was one that took a lot of courage to post because frankly, it was embarrassing. Surprisingly, though, a couple of people told me that they could relate.

There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t use the dishwasher AND If you are not using yours, then you are losing time and energy.

On The Perfect Fit, Sara Dagen commented,

“Such a beautiful story, Sothy! I cried as I read it and could imagine you in that room, gifted with such a dress! I’m glad you were able to include a photo of you and your benefactor. What a blessing!”

There was so much I wanted to write but like you, I was busy living life. I lived and learned, continuing to advocate for the Khmer Krom at the UN, traveled to five different states and survived two hurricanes. I faced my biggest fear and was interviewed by RFA in the Khmer language (watch it here).  Yes. It has been amazing and overwhelming. And definitely another story for another day.

New Year, New Site.

I have always dreamed of Cherteal being bigger than a blog, that it will be a website that will allow me to help others find inspiration, discover self and amplify the voices of the Khmer-Krom.

Moving forward with this mission, I will update a few pages and services so be sure to drop by the website and see the updates in 2023. Let me know what you think!

Please forward any articles that resonated with you or share it with someone you know so they know this resource and website exists. Or encourage them to subscribe!

Final Words

As 2022 comes to a close, I hope you will take some time to reflect on the things that went well and the things that you have learned. Check out Six Questions you should ask yourself before this year ends. Finally, I hope the content created here helped you see something different or made you learn something new.

Thank you for your support and see you in 2023! Best, Sothy. Founder of Cherteal.com
