Happy Mother’s Day!
A day that mothers around the world are getting recognized and appreciated. How does one even begin to express their appreciation to one of the most important people in our lives? The ones that keep everyone fed, the house clean, the bills paid and keeps our world from spinning out of control?

Start by saying thank you. A bouquet of flower works but if you truly want to appreciate her, here are ways you can do it.
- Give her a day off from house chores
- Take her to eat at her favorite restaurant or order it in.
- Gift her with a cleaning voucher by paying someone to clean her house this week or even better for this month.
- Gift of time for her to fill her cup
- Take care of her children for a couple of hours so she can take care of herself.
- Help her invest in her future
- Give her a book on investing and encourage her to take charge of her finance such as the total money makeover by Dave Ramsey
- Empower her by giving her a book such as the Gifts of Imperfection by Brene Brown.
- Buy a gym membership at a local gym or a virtual fitness class like Les Mill on demand so she can take care of her health.
- Spend quality time with your mother. Just being there and being present to listen, not to judge and appreciate this day and this moment.
There are so many ways we can appreciate the mothers of this world. And while living in a pandemic makes it more challenging to spend time with those that we love, it is imperative that we make it a priority and do our best in whatever way we can.
My mother lives in a different country but we try to keep in touch once a week via Skype. Here is a post I wrote about the three values my mother taught me.
To be a mother is to care and love those that depend on us for safety, for food and comfort. There are many who are mothers, not by giving birth but by giving love unconditionally. Let’s not forget the aunts, grandmas and sisters that do their part in helping raise all of our children, the future leaders of our world.
And if you are a mother like me, you know Mother’s Day is everyday. So enjoy this day, this moment and be kind to yourself everyday.
