On Friday, I got an opportunity to be interviewed by Voice of Kampuchea-Krom, a non profit radio created to promote the voices of the Khmer Krom people in the Khmer language.
It is the only radio program of its kind that was created by and for the Khmer-Krom people. Most of its broadcasters are volunteers dedicating their time and effort so that the muted voices of the Khmer- Krom are amplified globally.
If you are interested in learning more about the work of #KKF at the UN, here is a short clip of my interview in Khmer and English.
Despite the limited availability of the sessions at the Permanent Forum, we have been able to make two interventions virtually, one on the future works of the Forum and another on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
We have submitted three statements to the UNPFII and hope that we will be given the opportunities to speak about the importance of preserving and promoting indigenous languages as well as provide recommendations to improve the six mandated areas of the UN this upcoming week.
Thank you to VOKK for the interview, efforts of our young and yet very dedicated #KKFYC team at the UNPFII and you, for taking the time to read and follow this blog.
