Winter chills and warm hearts

Just when we thought we were in Spring, a cold front moves into Florida and we are once again feeling the chills of winter.

Whether it is the weather or our emotions, we are in a constant state of change.

What happens though if the change overwhelms you? Do you try to ignore it? Or do you acknowledge it and go with the flow of the change like the leaves swaying with the wind?

For changes in weather, a thick sweater and a hot cup of coffee keeps me warm and happy.

What happens if there are a lot of changes happening at once? Or if the day didn’t start off right? Does it dampen your day or do you continue on like it’s just part of life?

Some days, like today I acknowledge that it is hard. I feel tired and overwhelmed with life and the responsibilities. March has been a busy month and April will be even busier. I just want to curl up and sleep the day away.

And while I smile at that wishful thought, I get myself up and keep moving. Going through my list, doing what I can even if it means the pace is a little slower. Acknowledging that I might need multiple cups of strong coffee but I am here, present and ready to tackle whatever comes my way.

Perhaps it is a habit or an attitude or both. Either way, I find that there is strength in my mind and courage in my heart to keep moving forward even when a part of me wants to stop.

As the saying goes, when the going gets tough, the tough gets going.

And I know that I am not doing this alone, that I have teams and I have you. Thanks for listening 🙂 and I hope you are doing okay.
