When was the last time you watched the sun rise?
Rising slowly above the horizon from the east, the sun brings our world out of darkness with its rays of light and energy.

What is it about the sunrise that brings us hope, peace and a sense of new beginnings?
I don’t always get to watch the sunrise.
Sometimes it is hidden behind the clouds. Other times, I am still asleep or just too busy to stop, take a moment and appreciate it.
The very few times that I do watch the sun rise or set, it is truly a sight to behold.
Have you ever thought about sunrise as an opportunity to start fresh? To press the reset button?
That it could actually be a blank canvas in which we can paint what today could look like?
Instead of thinking about what the day brings and going with the flow, perhaps we can start with a vision of what we want it to look like.
Take control of the day rather than letting the day take control of us.
How you may ask? How about creating a daily practice?
Grab a blank page or a canvas, a set of colored pens, pencils or paint.
Designate a color that represents the following:
Heath – Green
Spirit – Blue
Work/income- Red
Family – Yellow
Draw or write what you are doing to achieve these important things today. It could be as simple as a prayer for blue, a run for green, a phone call to a loved one for yellow and showing up to work, fully present and positive for red.
If you don’t like painting, you can write out the vision or doodle. We are not expecting masterpieces here.
If you prefer a black canvas, then use light colors so it can be visible.
By setting the vision and intentions for today, you will be living the life you want.
